Hartlepool on Sunday

Our trip got cancelled on Sunday aboard Flamer II due to a bad weather forecast. Did anyone manage to get out on the Sunday at all? We went rock fishing around Bridlington and Filey and the sea was flat, and there was virtually no wind. Apparently, not much was caught on the Saturday from Hartlepool and 1 1/2lb pirks couldn\'t get to the bottom (wind causing too fast a drift?). Can anyone satisfy my curiosity?

Cheers :D

Just been talking to john and you are right about the pirks not holding the bottom 3 boats went out from the pool yesterday but 2 were back by 3 due to the wind, drift and increasing chop. I was in whitby and most of the charter boats there had stayed in due to the wind forecast.

Jason............. i was in whitby thurs, fri, with the boat, stayed at the marina, went to hartlepool for sat night to break up the journey as the forecast was not looking to good to travell home all that way on sunday...................the fog heading up to hartlepol was horrendous especially across teesbay, and i couldnt believe the amount of ships moored of there, when i got into the marina berth the sun was shining, just shows the weather difference half a mile can make.....all i can say is thank god for radar
Mike the only boat i saw leave hartlepool was the enterprise,we went out at the same time, was windy and a bit of a chop on the sea

nice one bob did you have a good weekend and what was the fuel consumption like. Glad to see you using the boat for longer trips mate, just what she is designed for - did the radar come in helpfull then.

fuel consumption was okay,at least i thought so...used 100 litres to whitby a distance of approx 46 miles, that was at an averag speed of 12-15 knots..............had a shit time cos i came down with samonella and had to go to hospital, they wanted to admit me but i managed to make excuses so just got the tablets off them. That was the reason for going to hartlepool to break the journey up as the forecast was poor.......................................would not have left either port without radar, the vis was that bad, really pleased i fitted it now

Mr Mason is thinkign about it now after last weekend.I was sitting ont he front of the boat looking for anyhtign as vis was about 10ft at times. He prob will be asking to ahve a look at yours, do you mind if i ask how much it cost Bob?

i was in bridlington last sunday and the wind was a good 20-30mph SE
sea had a good roll on it

you must have been in a sheltered spot mike...lol

We were in Fraisthorpe ! Stopped in Brid for some bait like and the sea was flat as a fart ! even at Filey Brigg is was flat, with very little wind all day. Some canny sea fret later in the day mind - and you don\'t want to be stuck on the Brigg in that !

Richy...the radar was as an add on to the raymarine c120 unit,i think the radome alone was about £800,but because it is uses the same screen as the chart plotter you can overlay the 2 together, however as you know i normally only use the c120 withe the dsm module as a digital fish finder..............all my navigating is done using a garmin 2006c,problem i find with many small booats is finding space for all the display screens.
When dave bought his fish finder i reccomended that he did not buy the fish finder,he would have been better off buying a c70 display unit, then he could add all the bits as and when required

Ok ceers Bob.I think Dave is going to remove the old fish finder to make more room. Its getting like your boat and a nasa space craft :) no space for him to put his fags down lol.
