I read with utter horror and revulsion today, in the Mail, about a Labrador pup having to be destroyed in South Shields. after a member of the public saw three youths playing football with it.
Youve read that right lads, usung a puppy as a football. It lived for several hors after treatment but began to take fits due to brain damage and was subsequently destroyed.
What makes people do something like that? I tried to figure ot out, but it is incomprehensible. It cannot have bitten them, or frightened them. so why do it.
In all sincerity I hope they are caught. I think they will be because people like that can never keep their mouths shut.
I am at a loss what to say.
People like that should have their hearts and lungs removed and put to good use.
Sorry if Ive taken space on a fishing site lads. but I felt so strongly I had to.

As you (and just about everyone else on NESA knows), I live in So. Shields....What I read in the paper yesterday and seen on the local TV news tonight made me almost ashamed to admit that I live in Shields.

Let\'s hope that the 3 sick b*st**ds are caught and dealt with. Given the amount of public outcry, both locally AND through the national press, over the incident, I doubt if the courts would dish out a lenient sentence.........even if those sad f**ks were only teenagers.

Who knows.....maybe there is a use for the \"Anti lobby\" I\'m sure they\'d like to meet out some justice to them.

whats incomprehensible to me is what can possibly be going through their minds at the time. how can anybody sober, drunk or high on sustances consider doing something like that to a defenceless animal thats never done anything to anyone.
its similar to a case several years ago when my next door neighbour was walking along the top of claxheugh rock, he saw a group of yong lads laughing at something and knew they were up to no good, he went over and the had a 6 week old pup that they had hacked the ears off and were about to through over the cliff, he gave a couple of them a hiding, the others legged it and he kept the dog himself, a lovely animal, how can anyone do something like that ?
 
Yvonne and I watched that story on the news tonight and like you we said the same things. Nothing bad enough can happen to these people. They will be caught because SOME people in this region DO care.

I\'m nightshift this week and read this article last night in the Metro newspaper. There was a photo of the puppy, taken just before it was destroyed and it brought a lump to my throat.

It sickens me as a dog owner / animal lover at the brutality shown by these mindless, warped sicko\'s.

I\'m ashamed to say that I also live in South Shields, my estate literally backs onto the fields where this happened. These \"people\" probably live in my area. What\'s to say my dog, cats or children won\'t be on the receiving end of a kicking the next time?

They need to be made accountable for this disgusting, unhuman act. Someone, somewhere knows who they are and what they\'ve done and I just hope they have the common decency to hand them over to the police.

A slow painful death would be too good for these b*stards.

As you say, let\'s hope they ARE the correct names that have been given to the police.

If they are, I wouldn\'t be surprised if the names aren\'t released for \"legal reasons\"......more to the point - their own safety. Even if the names aren\'t released, it won\'t take long before word gets around locally.

For those outside the N.E. and hven\'t heard of this incident in the press, this is the puppy used as a football......... left blinded in one eye and suffering brain damage so severe that it had to be put to sleep by a vet...........

howay lads most north east folk are animal lovers.we have 3 scum bags put them in stocks in the market sqare and leave the b*****ds to suffer till death.but we must also blame the corner shop (drink)and the drug dealers.if the market sqare no good ile take the b*****ds to hamsterly forest and nail them to a tree (wot a waste of good nails)

its in there genes,there family is probably sh#te as well,some of the #rseholes should be sterilised,if someone did this to a human being they would get ten years (then again !) but this crime will get them 100 hours community service if they are lucky ...............
 
My lass is a Family Support worker for Social Services and according to her, the sad thing is that sh*t who abuse animals can go on to abuse kiddies. They make no distinctions between the two and \"get off\" on the feeling of being all powerful when brutalising them. You just have to remember little Jamie Bulger to remind you how sick kids can be.

Lets hope the police have the right names and they are caught, for all our sakes.

And yeah, South Shields is a nice place place Jim, and I\'m proud to live here, but you can\'t help feeling guilty when something like this happens on your own patch. It\'s always the crappy things that an area is remembered for, isn\'t it?
