i normaly fish in a sturdy pair of climbing boots, but find as of late my feet are coming home wet lol ,due to the fact im on the beaches more ,so the question is do i dust me old wellies off and buy some decent thermal socks or do i opt for a pair of thermal wellies if so do i buy em a size to big for the extra socks i might need ,open to suggestions? ;)

cheers

Why not get some chesties (SNOWBEE) ones thats what i wear all the time when im fishing of rocks or beaches they also keep your whole body warm 2 :D

bri if you are fishiong the beach those sort of boots are no good mate get yourself some waders as in chesties. As dean says they do keep you warm.

Jim.

any idea as to the sort of price im looking at for a decent pair/set ?
christ if i go out anymore dressed im gonna look like a fishing tellytubby lol

Best thing to do is get round a few shops and on the net. Prices can change so just get the best deal at the time. Billy was knocking chesties out at a good price.

Jim.

ill shop round a bit jim but me wellies will have to do for now with 3 pair of socks, did you manage to get into the chat room ?

bri

try to find yourself a pair of toggi wanderers (wellingtons) you do not need to go the extra size they are also neoprene lined and extremely warm and comfortable. i find that i can walk all day no problem with these boots

another important factor is that you are wearing decent socks to go with them. it may also be worth checking out the barbour factory shop.

you should be lookin to pay around the £70.00 mark worth it

Bri - the waders i got from Frasers at gateshead are exellant- wore them tonight and they are really warm (to warm to be honest- but its not cold yet) i would have a look up at his shop - £49.99 is a cracking price _ even if you wreck them in one winter season its cost you nowt-- you can cut the boots off the bottom and \"hey- hot wellies- with neoprene liners \" LOL. :D :D

Snowbee neoprene chesties.....magic.....comfy to wear and keep you really warm. Don\'t need anything more than a pair of jog pants under them...even standing in the water, goolie deep on a February night.

Got mine from Billys a couple of years ago.......just looked at his site (see \"On LineTackle Dealers\" in the \"web-links\")........he\'s got them listed at £60.00.......but don\'t forget ya NESA discount.

Bri, askari fishing have chesties ( Neoprenes) at £45. you can order online. I have a Pair of snoebees. has them over a year, first time I went bollock deep they leaked. :( ( last month) ight have a hole in.
apart from that The soles are soft. I fish Beadnell skeers a lot. and the bloody rough rocks kill y feet.
But you dont need to go over £60 mate. Be wary of anyone selling them 2nd hand ( yellow paper ) or the likes. could be a reason ( drip drip ) ahem! ;)

had a few things from askari over the last few month paul,i gotta say some of there stuffs utter @#:~
billys might just be the job but i gotta convince the drag erm missus first, been going a bit daft buying gear due to just starting up again so me wellies and warm socks might have to last till next season ;)

I just picked a pair of thermal waterproof boots at lidl for £8.99

Comfortable and warm as toast!!!! :D
