Speleo Nova 3 (headlamp)

Seeing as my MFA 2 dropped me in it last week on the Wherry, I\'m going to treat mesel & buy a decent headlight. I\'m re-soldering the wiring & it\'ll be fine but I need a tough lamp due to my clumsyness, love of kayaking, snorkelling & fishing of course.
I love the look of the NOVA 3 but the options of battery packs and difficulty in buying one is putting me off :(
Does anyone have one and know where I can buy one ? The best I\'ve seen is Summerlands at £85 for the \'Alkaline\' headset one. I don\'t want a geet heavy battery like the Tiga cos me backs geet dodgy & this Nova seems the business
There\'s one or two others I like but this ones the best so far, any ideas are welcome, thanks :)

hi andy.i know these are more money but i think you will find there are no better, tha samalite lights m8 are fantastic, cheapest kit starts at 150 but will last forever and come with a five year waranty on batery and headpiece.the battery is light as a feather and kicks out juice better than others.

Thanks Johnny, I\'ve heard about Samalites but never seen one, a lad I knows got one but bought a Nova. I\'ll poke around for the Samalite now and see whats what.

Andy Roy has the myobelt 5 halogen works for over 12 hours and full 5 eld lasts over 260 hours heres the spec if you want a look the sell for arond £50

Hi Andy m8. I hope sincerely that you read this in the best of health. I have re-registered over at your place but its difficult to keep track of everything when time is so limited. One day we all will be free

I take it that it would be the lead that went on your MFA Andy. Mine snapped Also I believe Tony\'s and Ian\'s both snapped too. I sent for a new lead and although I just use it as a spare, it is a lot better as the new lead is quite a bit longer.

Jim.

Aye Jim, the wiring seems to go after a year or three, I\'ve found that with the MFA (1 & 2) there\'s a problem with the cheap wiring but have spoken to some who say there\'s is ok since had problems as yet. The wiring went in 2 of the 4 weak spots on the lamp for me & so I\'m gan 4 a new one.
1: the battery terminals weakened & gave in (renewed)
2: the battery/charger connector gave in & had to be cleaned out.
3: the wiring half way up ya back gave in (this is the 4 joints of solder at the voltage resistor (dropper) and is what knacked up on me
4: the wiring within the headlamp itself is prone to connection problems (but is as yet not known to me personally)

I had ppl say that to me when i got mine and have since learned that obviously it\'s true :( The basic rule in retail is \"you get what you pay for\" & thats what I\'m going by now.
I might pay say £85 for a headlamp now (nova 3) but it should last me at least 5 years gan by reports.
The MYO 3 looks good 4 me too, thanks Rhys, the 5 is too bulky battery wise 4 me but the 3 is a good option if its light enough ?
Thanks for all the input, Santas watchin closely ;)
