John is a good friend of Andyb\'s from this site.
and theres also this news which doesnt look so good.

Like Johns\' story - let\'s hope Davys\' story has a happy ending.
Thoughts go out to his family during this time of \"not knowing\".

had a couple of calls tonight and things dont look good, still no sing of Davy and theres no tackle at the mark he said he was going to.
my thoughts go out to his girlfriend and family.

Hope the guy gets back safe. thoughts go out to his family and friends.
I made a long distance phone call tonight and spoke to john, he was full of nothing but praise for the life boat crews.
His fishing gear made it all the way to stonehaven and has been recovered! thats 8 miles or so from where he went in. Just goes to show how far you can travel when actually in the water.
Finally guys on another safety note, something which should be employed in any club (as it was in my last club), when out fishing and it then becomes time for the weigh in or end of trip, if you cant make it to the weigh in,as youve decided to go home or whatever, make sure to give others a phone call to let them know you are safe.

That\'s a VERY good point you made in your last sentence there, Andy.

When we had the last NESA Winter Shore Comp (November last year), there were a couple of guys who hadn\'t caught anything and decided not to bother coming back to the weigh-in.........they contacted me on my mobile letting me know. I thought that was very thoughtful and will be posting my mobile number in the Tyne Challenge forum later this week, prior to the comp on Sunday.

We tried to get lads in our club to phone if they are not coming back Andy....Especially if there\'s a big blow. Unfortunately some of them are of the mindset that it\'ll never happen to them. Lets hope not! I joined my local coastguard station as I\'m of the opinion that it could happen to me and I\'d like to think people were out looking for me, so the least I can do is make sure I\'m always available to help if needs be. I know a lot of you guys fish up at Cullernose and Howick....We do cliff exercise training there every now again in case any one goes over.
Same with every one having a pleasure craft...How many people go out with a radio, flares, life jackets, the most basic things you need to survive if the boat goes down?
I just hope for a speedy conclusion for the lads family, and a positive one at that.

Spoke to John Daily tonight as he had to go to the doctors today. Doc was waiting for him with a full page from the Herald (in colour) about him . Was expecting you, did you catch any fish, how many, 6, what did you do with them? gave them to the Police.
He is going up to Aberdeen on Friday to collect his gear.
Coast guard has stopped the search for the other bloke. they found his car
