Michael Chopra - 11 games later

At the begining of the season there was a few threads on Chops and what people thought of him. Has any of it changed after a third of the season? i've not been watchin him at all and was wonderin what the Sunderland fans have made of him so far?? I gather he's not been notchin many but hows he been playin etc?? All in all has he been a good buy so far? has he convinced the mackem faithfull??

In my opinion he's done ok, he had 2 chances in the first few games and put them both away. He's been asked to play on the right side of midfield a few times and has just got on with it and his work rate is very good. Can't really judge the lad on goals scored as he's had no service.

very true keith ,but the new player jones is keeping certain players off the field with his hieght and pouncing ability ,not too clever on the pitch tackle wise ,but i see this player getting snapped up from some other team if sunderland do not survive this season

hes banana foot just keeps missing the goal ,and his head is on back to front looking at the open goals hes missed

By the way Chaps ,lets not slag the little fella off to early ,

we will need at least 2 goals on Nov 10th

Cole ALWAYS scores against us and chops is bound to find the net

We'll give Chops a heart transplant the day before and he'll still be better than Stokes. I really hope Stokes proves me wrong but I think at best, he's a championship player.

Whats happening on Nov 10th ? have I missed something LOL bit of an old thread this one ....................

How about APRIL 20th :) :) :)

According to the boys on here the 20th is gonna be a none event. A boring game not worth talking about. What these lads are forgetting is that form goes out the window and the game is one of the last of the season. Either team could need the points to stay up.

Its funny the mackems recall this post after Chopra scores his first in months! How about pulling up the post I made of Chopra going missing for long spells and probably not being preiership class?? I'll bet anyone on here the lad doesn't score 20 premiership goals in the next 3 seasons (if you stay up that long).

If im honest, id rather Sunderland stayed up. I just got my tickets through for the derby and can't wait. Without doubt its the best game of the season. If you believe the lads who say otherwise your as bad as them.

Can't stand derby day mesell Andy, my stomach churns from waking up, there's just too much at stake.

I gave up away games when I started boat fishing so sadly I aint got enough loyalty points to get a ticket.

Keane summed it up in his post match interview when he said to be fair to chops we've played him wide right a lot of the time and haven't created that many chances for him. When he has had chances he's put them away.

well the powers that be have put the game on sky (which I`m pleased about cos the kids have got the tickets so no chance of me and the missus going) but that was when they thought it could be an either or for the drop out .................. but no chance of that, you might still be in the running keith but the magpies will be safe as houses ................

It wasn't long ago I was saying that the Toon deserved to be relegated and for a while I thought my fears would be realised...we might beat the drop but if we do there needs to be wholesale changes in the squad...KK needs a HUGE pot of money to spend because there is no way "decent" players will come to the Toon on merit at the moment

I'm still waiting for the "Revolution" and look forward to it eventually happening...

If I can't get tickets for the derby I'll be watching it from the sofa screaming at the screen :D

got to agree Norm, a think the toon will be ok but i also think that Sunderland will be ok too. I think the likes of Birminham, Reading and Bolton have more quality but Sunderland have a lot of heart, something that has been lacking in the newcastle squad at times. Like keane said they haven't really been battered too many times this season, where as the toon have been humped on too many occasions.

And remember they have been without messers Richardson and Edwards for long spells.

Evans & Bardsley have made a massive difference, Keane should make sure Evans is his first summer signing.

Great result today but I've been watching them long enough to know it probably means we'll get beat off the hammers.

Aye Keith I think Villa was your turning point as birm and Fulham were ours, however it makes the game on 20th April more of a pride game than a survival .... which is MUCH more important for locals LOL enjoy it mate , I will (I hope!). :) :)

i have to disagree about the post regarding chops heart not being in it playing against newcastle, i think he will be the first name on the team sheet bcos he has a major point to prove and if it were me id be busting a gut to stick one over on the team that let me go! even if it was my team!
