Thought I better get out at least once over the holidays, so I headed down to the back of Souter from 4pm - 7:30pm. Big rockling on my second chuck - managed to swallow a 7/0 loaded up with runny, mussel and crab, then nowt until the last 2 chucks when the rod went daft as soon as it hit the water, again another couple of poxy rocklings.

Started to pish down around this time and the wind started to pick up (not good when you're on top of a cliff) so I called it a day (a year?) and headed home.

Seen a couple of lights at the Wherry and there was 2 lads fishing off the front of the Lizard Point car park, but given the sea state and the weather I'm not surprised it was quiet.

Well done Rob for going out in crap conditions and gettin something, even tho just rocklin's. The little tw%&s they such good promisin rattles. Betta look next time mate.

Back out at the same mark last night (Saturday) which was a bit busier with a few of the Cleadon club lads fishing a comp. Bitterly cold with the wind coming from the NW and only managed a tiny rockling on my last chuck, which I didn't even know I had on until my trace swung into view. Dissappointing fishing but had a bit craic with JohnMc who I hadn't seen in ages and our lass had pizza and wine ready when I got in.

Just had a run along the coast this morning (Sunday) and there is a bit movement with a few waves coming over the top of Tynemouth Pier, having a crack at Roker Pier tonight so I hope its still open?

well done on giving it another go,im out tonite too, going to try a couple of beach marks first, but you never know i mite end up on the pier

Good to see you Rob shame your lad wasn't there. That wind definatly had a bite to it like, and best of all in swung around to the north and the see started to lift. could be a promising week ahead. So could be back on the cliffs lookin for the big one(wishful thinkin)
