your not allowed to fish the pier unless your in one of the clubs im in tynemouth club. on its day the pier can be very good but some days it can get very frustrating.

You can get on any time after 4pm really, as long as its dark. PoT have turned ablind eye and as far as I know (based on who I've spoken to) they would never press for trespass. Best fishing for me has been last two of the ebb and the first two of the flood - fishing into the river from near the bell end. Fish direct off the end in the same tide with a moderate sea but only at low water. Back wall adjacent to 4 posts will fish too on any tide state but you need a dying sea. My mate sean had 3 over 2 sessions here - best 9ib. I've had 4 this year from there between 4-5 pound. Fish the bottom near the 4 posts with a big easterly on - as soon as it starts. Me and a mate had 16 fish around the 1.4-3ib mark when we had that lovely easterly on the 3rd Jan. Spring time with crab can be wonderful for codling, coalies etc.

we were on the pier last thurs had 2 codling one of 4 and the othere 3my m8s had a few 2 the best place i hav found is near the end of the pier were the ground is broken it looks like the letter L! but fish the sea side it is quite snaggy but thats were i have had the most fish try verying casts i have them 20 yards off and had them as far as i can cast
