Another bait question!!

Whats best fresh or unfresh?? Should i go to the bother of getting live shell fish, razor and muscel, or am i just as well off with frozen razor and packet muscel from the shop?

Razor has been mixed for me fresh and frozen have done well as for mussel fresh is best only if who ever you get it off hasnt blanched it first.

yesterday the 2 big cod that was taken on roker fell to fresh and frozen crab ,and i had none ,ill make sure this year ill have some tucked away in the vault lol

If you can get it Phil go for Fresh bait,best to collect it yourself then you know its fresh.
i keep all my old shell fish bait in a tub and keep re-freezing it after each session,its minging and some is probably a few years old but its handy for bulking up baits and leaving a sent trail.
Other than Rag worm i try not to waste any bait.
I've never tried re-freezing crab as i was told it was useless once re-frozen however i'm sure it was mentioned on here that someone re-freezes there's

gotta go for the fresh bait in all situations,as alan said if you collect the bait yuorself and freeze it at least you know how fresh it was
