Flatty Beachs

Is there any good decent flatty beachs around in the northumberland area? With not much cod about, and me not liking to fish off rocks losing loads of gear, going to try and catch some decent flattys, so is there any good beachs around here with decent size flattys? If you dont want to say on here, give me a pm, cheers

going to be crowded on the day i would say

Area in and around the wansbeck estuary/mouth.

Seaton Sluice harbour used to be minging with flatties back in the 1980's, dunno what happened in the mid 80's but ever since then I've not seen many if any at all caught there.

Blyth Harbour if you get right up-river behind the industrial estate used to be canny for big flounders, not fished there in a long time though.

..but will it be the right space. I had a look up to Druridge when the last open was on and there was plenty of space and then big areas with lots of anglers all together....guess which bit of beach I will be heading to next time I go

as long as the rest dont go half a mile further up the beach cause thats where they know the fish are be prepared to move about methinks
