decided a few hours early this morning got on the pier at 2.30am well it seemed a lot quicker going on than off blowing the hoolies (gale force wind) set up on the round head in a lil shelter part not so bad rod only bouncing 6 inches off railing and a foot side to side ,,waited a while fust bite nothing ,knocks another squid and mussel rap up as that was happenening kept turning checking rod me tip was going ,reeled im to my surprise a strange looking creature couldnt identify it till i got it to the top and noticed it was a lump of squid and mussle on a 6/0 hook a nearly pooped meself,so nowt happened on the roundhead so scattered for shelter as the wind hoolied more (gale force winds again)went to the bunker where some kind fella must left iz some nice lugworm but forgot to shout ere theres some bait for ya ,unless he did in the wind disguised it.anyway goto about 5pm and knocks appeared(bites from a fish or some sort)anyway it was me first fish a nice size whiting at around 1lb mark and a 1 at half that weight on the same snood on a pennel pulley rig,next cast same stamp and so on all good size whiting must of had atleast a dozen in the space of 1 hour and a good size coalie too bang on top of the tide just before the a lil bit light showed all fish returned .so i rapped up at 7.30am and dashed home for the pit
