forecasting!!

Just wondering what sites people use for forcasting sea states, i've use magic seaweed for years now for my surfing and it very often gets it very wrong, like today for example aparently theres 3 and a half foot of surf, but the sea is like a mill pond.

All subject to looking at the conditions on the day though....last few weeks they've been mostly incorrect

Although the above is weather like...not sea state

i also use bbc but this one for weather ,tides and swell
BBC - Weather Centre - Coast and Sea - Tides North East

links on top right for inshore and off shore seas with swell

I prefer to use Metcheck. (Metcheck.com - UK Weather Forecasts - Live Data - Long Range Weather Forecasts). Check the "Hobbies" tab then the "Inshore". If you want dozens of more links then try Ant Veals Great Weather at Ant Veal's GreatWeather site for great weather forecasts, satellite pictures, rainfall radar, weather charts and webcams . Two pages of everything weather you could wish for along with webcams, tide tables, etc, etc.

these sites all seem to have the same problem with wave sea state prodiction, that metcheck site say there is a 1.3m swell... i've just been down to the beach and its like a mill pond lol i'm guessing this is because they base there forecasts on wave buoys that are further out to sea

Hey guys

I checked the bbc site quickly the other day for a quick forecast prediction for when we head out on sunday and it says there's gonna be a 4.5ft!

But that was the other day its probably changed since and it probably will again.

Gonna start making my packed lunch for sunday now
