i walk the dog alot at souter lighthouse and if you walk south from souter about 100yds there is a beach behind the first two firering ranges at whitburn,it looks very good very deep beach and has a lovely gully in the middle just wondered if it has a name or does it fish high or low tide?and what the best access to it coz the car park at souter closes at night?

Iv'e fished it twice on the flood last winter and blanked both times. Also it's very very hungry ground :(
BUT I've spoken to other anglers who couldn't believe that I had blanked as they say that it fishes very well.

Same as you, fished it twice last year as it looked very good, however got nothing. I usually park in the estate that is alongside the firing range and then walk down through the field to the beach.

Fished jackies a few times always found it fished best last 2 of the ebb and 1st 2 of the flood, can also be very tackle hungry. As Coddy says, there have been some really nice big fish taken from there

I'm sure theres been some good fish caught from there seem to remember some one winning a match with a 11 pounder from there a few years back, i only remember cos i fished it a coulpe of days later and blanked lol
