Gearbox Butt

Can anyone enlighten me to what Gearbox Butt design is?

Think ya get them on century rods although i may be wrong,some kinda design in a rod i think.

Yeah that's right, the reason I was asking was cos I just bought a Century Kompressor Sport and in the description was "gearbox butt design" was just wondering what that meant.

could be for compression when casting the rod, and reeling in over rough ground snags etc.
