Well set off at 7.30am this morning with the weather against us from the start, tried some 4mile wrecks but only pulled in a small ling and a codling so headed off to a 9mile wreck that i have never fished before...it paid for it's self in the end.

Hard drifting at 1.2-1.7 all day that far out and with the wind building but held out and ended up with 11 cod the best for myself at 18lb 4oz arm breaker :) and 3 ling best just under 9lb, also had 4 whiting and only 9 mackerel...not many out there now :(

My mate had mackerel, whiting, coalie and 1 codling but it was only his 2nd boat trip ever.

pics of the day and cod below.....

It was caught on a pirk, had 6 cod on 4 drifts before that one then after that one not 1 fish more from that wreck lol. Its abit far and on its own to try often so will leave that one along for a few weeks.

Yer it was Jason, only hit 3 wrecks all day. Had an issue with the batt today, defo need to run a second one for the electrical equipment only, when at dift running all the electrics then only doing 200yard spirts for next drift it is draining the batt, had the warning light on and it would not start until everything was turned off and i had hooked the solar pannel up to trickle charge it then it started 1st time.

Not going out again until i fit a 2nd batt as it's asking for trouble now i know it can happen. It happened because i stayed on that 1 wreck for over 2 hrs just drifting back and forwards with the radio on, vhf on, gps and fish finder on.

Good solid boats thou so was never worried and everything is backed up 1 way or the other now, cant see me fishing this boat comp unless i get it sorted this week and i am on nights so looks iffy
