Take it by the none reports no other boats bother in the winter months?

Had a few nice flat days so though the likes of Valanite, Shady,Kate and so on may have been out...must all eb like em and put off by the lack of heat and fresh bait :)

Think i will try xmas hols close in over some wrecks and rough ground no more than 1 mile off.

you already answered it tony ........................

can`t remember a weekend since the Ian Woods comp when its be fishable saturday or sunday ..... or maybe I`ve just been hibernating ?

Well if anyone does head out, catch or no catch reports would be welcomed.
Like i say, it will be xmas now until i try the boat at sea again, just finished its in water service.

The only reason the Volante is not out fishing is because the Capitano is in Saudi for six weeks. Have managed to wangle the hols off this year, so I am sure my press officer Jeff will be able to get some reports in-weather permitting. OOOOPS I forgot it is the eating/drinking season but I am sure he will surface to get a report in.
Norman - do none of the boats fish inside the harbour when its too rough to get outside the piers, used to be quite productive around the rubble/post areas years ago.

just had a report that the six mile wrecks at whitby have fished well over the last week or so using shads etc.

They must have clearer water, it was like a cup of strong tea colour last week when i took the boat out with family about 3-4miles out.

Be good to think our wrecks still holding alot of fish also.

Sundays till looks good weather but i am stuck working 7-5pm :(

Hi Davey,
I`ve seen a few boats hovering around but not really my cup of tea ... I think bert has had good days on species hunts when the weather brings everyone in but mainly flatties of a number of varieties.

roll on the spring for the rough ground runs on royd`s :)

Yer got that mark, a kelp bed up Marys and the normal marks around Souter to try in the spring.

I tried for flatfish but never got that many, whiting kept taking everything put down.
