If there is a bit of a sea on you could try the small prom at the north of Whitley Bay or the boat house which are pretty close together, Collywell Bay at the bottom of either ramp or the beach at Seaton Sluice. It would pay to have a look at the beach first so you can see where the holes are. That way you won't be casting onto a sandbar. You will get a couple of hours each side of high tide which ever mark you pick.
