  • Hi everyone - a new member tho I've been viewing the site(and its decline) for donkeys years.Sadly what prompted me to join was my frustration at what I was seeing on Blyth pier.I can strip and rebuild a 525mag blindfold but I'm lousy with computers hence its taken me nearly 2 months to join and write this over which time my dismay has dwindled somewhat.I went on end of June just to see if the mackerel were in-counted at least 20 bottles and cans discarded on the pier, got to the end to see a pile of rubbish stacked 2ft high.I know this was cleared by responsible anglers but 3 weeks later it was all back again. Then the mackerel were in and I was disturbed to see anglers going off the pier with a big bucket full ,30 odd fish ,and reappearing an hour later and doing the same. How many do you need.!Also the odd undersized coalies were being kept.Even worse was the site of at least a dozen discarded mackerel scattered around the car park.Im told a couple of anglers reported the coalie issue to the authorities who responded by attaching 4 plastic charts with a measure( like you see on tackle boxes) to the pier.A week later they were all smashed up!Dont know if it's me getting grumpy in my old age but sometimes I dispair at the mentality and behaviour of some anglers. Why can't they take their rubbish home?Sorry my 1st post was a negative one but I had to get it off my chest.Hopefully my next one will be after some big seas and COD related!
