There are loads of marks with some of the best cod fishing in the country in the right conditions. Have a look along Whitley beach at low water when there's a good sea running (night time). The beach will be lit up with headlights. They will be fishing the holes along the beach.

Use a bit of PTFE lubricant. Apply it then wipe of the excess, keeps them from sticking. Some people use candle wax too.

That bit davys on about is block house hole. Site of an old block house :)

cast 11oclock off the craig. casting 50 yards. Its looking more unstable all the time. Just left of the craig (more into collywell bay) is devils hole only a short lob here into the hole (about 25 yards) usually a fish or two about there.
