nice fish mate. what was the weed like at high water? we fished (or attempted to) low water till about 6pm yesterday but it was absolutely impossible. Dragging in 15lb+ worth of weed within minutes of casting. Thought it might have got better towards high water but wasn't willing to sit around...

Nocturnal Hound Hunt – 17/07/16 As spring shifts into summer there is a fresh anticipation amongst specimen hunting anglers wanting to get to grips with quarry that is built to test even the most advanced terminal setups. Here in the north east the general consensus is that our home turf offers...

    Icelandic Fishing Adventure

Firstly you'll need 2 other people mate, as you need a minimum party of 3. You can do the whole lot for less than £1k - including the cost of flights which you book yourself. £600 goes to the guide - who'll supply all your bait, rods (all century rods) and all transport. All you need to take...

    Lrf

Pier/breakwaters always a good place to start. If you're into species hunting you can rack up a tally pretty quickly. Personally I like to use light rigs and tiny baits on LRF tackle rather than the lure side of things, but you can do just as well with isomes, small plastics etc.

    Icelandic Fishing Adventure

Sorry all - not really sure why the width of this is ridiculous. Posted fine on other forums. :S When asked by fellow anglers where it is that I enjoy fishing, there can be few comparisons made to the exclusive sport that is on offer in the country of Iceland. As anglers we dream of red letter...

Second that - if you're after turbot use straight fish baits. Mackerel or bluey :) Also because of the size of fish, you've done the right thing in picking continental style match rod. General practice is to just reel in every 15-20 mins even if you don't see a bite, fish can still be lying on...

    Any truth in the rumour

Live right next door to barmston pond - once upon a time it was a great little fishery, though completely run down. Once Rob took it over he intended to turn it into a pike/trout fishery but opposition from council/MPs/Locals all but scuppered the chances. Was a shame as Rob had plenty of plans...
