you want the biggest hooks you can get hold of with makerel flappers on a 150lb running ledger. oh and a boat... TRM got one off the mull the other year but he was way out. Tope from the shore are like rocky horses **** as far as I know. Prob too late in the year now anyway. Have a scout for catch reports from the drummore boats.
The pollack and coalies are meant to be on now though and you'll get them on the float etc if you want to avoid the doggies.

Hi , could you help me out, I am going to the Mull of Galloway next month, with my mate, we want to catch some tope, but we are unsure how to go about it seen the pics of you and your friends with tope from that area.
where abouts will we find them and what beach will they be around, can you get them with rag worms or will we need some lug.
we have fished for them loads of times but only catch them dog fish.
please help any info at all would be of great help
