    They think it's all over....

.......It is for a few years. Well after 14 years of being a boat owner and using the boat 40 to 50 times a season year in year out it was a hard decision to sell my boat ON-A-ROLL. With a new lower paid job, new born child, less larger fish, ever increasing Windy spring n summers rising fuel...

    Lack of reports

I have had my longest ever spell of being unwell, one thing after the other for last 7 weeks but the 1 day I did get out it was poor and pouting saved the blank, tried 6 wrecks and ground st marrys to Cresswell. I will try again in a couple of weeks as last 2 years we have had some cracking...

    Mackerel

You must be the only one, they turned up a few weeks ago then vanished and every boat struggled that I know of until the last couple of days when they have shown again. we have 25 so getting there but due to weather shark trip looks to be off anyway, be 3rd time unlucky, risk you take fishing...

    Mackerel

Looking back through my 27 years of boating records I expected to see this year as being the worst for mackerel hat I had recorded but it was not, I have years when the mackerel never came in large numbers until mid July. The lack of bait fish has really hit my fishing this year, even calling...

    Norway fishing trips

Yes I have been 5 times now, been to Sandland Brygge and Skejvoy fish camp. Caught a host of PB's coalie, Haddock, redfish, cod, Halibut and Torsk, some great views and experience. As with all fishing the weather is key and after 3 years in a row of poor weather that resulted in poor fishing...

    Nothing doing today 8th April

I, it was poor last weekend, we tried many wrecks then a patch of ground and only landed 1 fish each. Will give it a week or two and try again. Lovely day to be at sea mind, warm, flat as could be and cracking drifts...just no fish yet. Too many seals about now as well, 1/3 of the wrecks we...

Blue Shark 2 day trip 1 space free

Rule of thumb for the north east is often, "if its not cod, its not worth fishing for" so organising such trips is always hard, the price is also a big factor as its not cheap for a 2 and a half day fishing trip but well worth it if you could spare the pennys. Just have to go as a three Eddie.

Fingers crossed for a good year, we are due one and a less windy one would be good...due to change in job I be struggling to get out anywhere near the amount of...

    Norway nearly here

In 4 years of fishing Norway I have lost a total of 5 leads and 2 pirks. I would take 5 leads each and 4 pirks. Guess it depends what methods you are using, I liked large shad fishing sometimes with a lead assist but alot of the time no lead required. A lot of the time your not fishing the...

    Windy Summer 2017

I am on my 27th trip of 2017 on my own boat but yes it has been a very windy year again as 2016 was the same. They cant predict a day ahead but the forecasters saying it is due to the pressure band holding the jet stream over the UK now during our summer months...The Uk in 207 is now...

    Annual pilgrimage

Have a good trip you two, canny tides, forecast though changes every 6hrs so far looks good. Fishing has been patchy and mackerel not a given. We fished today had about 30 cod n ling from 3lb-8lb between 2 of us and a hand full of mackerel so fish about and JFK2 will find them for yous.

    Catch reports

I don't bother with them anymore really but it's been a bit slower this last week than previous week..last week had good numbers from wrecks but this week only odd fish, never bother with rough ground..also had mackerel the the 2 trips out but still patchy. ...water back to being thick with...
