Hi Davy, The bottom is clear sand so long as you don't cast onto the skeer itself, but it does pay to cast close to it because the codling are feeding close to the rocks. The walk isn't too bad. Park on the ramp leading down to Crusoe's Cafe on the beach just in front of The Grand Hotel and then make your way down to the beach (maybe 200yards distance). Lovely spot to fish. Good luck. Ross
