It's the taking part that counts Pete. I fished from the rocks near the gun turret last week, used macky n lug. Not a nibble, tried a few o them limpet things stuck to the rocks, had a flounder and a dab :o But like some lads said, if they ain't there, they won't bite.

Had a walk on the pier at Shields this aft, seen a couple o lads at the end and a couple part way along, don't know if they had owt as there was a dirty great Seal swimming up and down! seen him there the other day.

I only asked where can I collect peelers, sorry lads if it's a touchy subject. Where can I collect them without having to scrap for them? ie. lifting a rock or two, the old fashion way? :)

Gonna give them rocks a go this weekend, been at the custom house tuesday just gone, 1 fish, a Coaly 1.5lb, on ragworm. When is it best to start spinning from Trow Rocks?

There is a old gun turret on the hill about half a mile from the fair on the front at Shields, been told this is marsden. Can anyone tell me anything/tips on the fishing from the rocks below it at this time of the year, baits/species etc. Thanks wardy44

Cheers budgie/outkast, i'm in simonside. Call me daft, but prefer smooth ground in the winter months and rocky/smooth in the summer, probably due to fishing the West Coast for years.
