Been a fairly abject season for me it must be said.

I'm not the world greatest angler but I know enough to give myself half a chance...or so I think LOL :red:

Fished Blyth Pier last night...knew the conditions weren't great but fancied there might be maybe (hopefully) some size Whiting about...

Geet cold as owt...when I walked on there was only 2 other anglers on the end...after an hour or so another Angler rolls up - turns out to be kela66 (banging out House Music with his retro boom box on his shoulder:p:D)

Nice to meet you mate ;)

Anywho I was fishing one up one down size 1/0...Rag on top Lug on bottom...numerous small rattles results in...

I did also catch 3 small codling and that was the sum of all of last nights catch - in fact that is the general stamp of all I've been catching since 28th November 2008.

As such I've only got two more sessions in me before I wrap things up and start getting the boat gear ready - Tynemouth Pier on Sunday then the NvS

I only hope/pray that the Boat fishing isn't as patchy....:yltype:

You wouldn't trade the moment you got the 6lber for the world Tony. You needn't think you're bringing those rockling with you if you're haversacking for the NvS mate lol

Could be worse you could be blanking.

Hard lines there mate, I fished the evening before (weds) from about 3-9pm and had only 5 whiting, the last one undersize. Nowt else, the big codling-bait was untouched the whole session. Really slow going, probably not helped by all the porpoises that were swimming around off the end.

Still, at least the rockling gave you something!

Gary :)

lol, was the same for me the other night on there from my report, rockling straight off. Looks like you were fishing about 20-30' further along than the mark i've been opting for the last few times when I've had the whiteys on there (ie you're closer to the bend).

it was nice to meet you too  i went to whitley beach after i left ,there was quite a few fishing it , 3 lads next to me said they had been there since 7.30 and had one coaley between them , for me it was a rockling a crab with only 1 claw and another weed fish :) ohh and it was no warmer than the pier .. davey

Good crack on the info m8 I was wonderin about the south pier catches keep up the good work and your not the only one that hopes the boat sport is good this I' m all ready to go just wanton better weather to come in:)

thats the stamp of things i've caught since start of october:o:o not kidding either(bar half a dozen 'at most' size yting):( blanked again today, losing the faith bruv, as i've mentioned in my 'lack of catch' report. that was maybe my last outing of the cod (lol:D) season unless i can wangle a pass for next weeks N v S. heres hoping............
