Well me and Phil decided to have a trip down to Skinningrove yesterday for an all night session.
When we got there everything looked fine from the cliffs so we made the long descent. The first cast resulted in the most unbelievable amount of weed being brought in, it had my rod bent double and it snapped Phils line when it got caught in the waves.
We thought it would be best to head down the coast a little so back up the cliff we went which was very hard work since we had brought all our gear down.
The drive to the next mark was through some horrible weather with heavy rain and wind. We stepped out of the car and it wasn't a pleasant site at all but we stuck it out and headed onto the beach. After about an hour the weather broke leading to some better conditions and a chance for us to dry off, the sea had quite a surf going and bite detection was difficult.
However around 11pm I noticed my rod bouncing around a little more than usual so I stuck and hauled this little fella in.
This is my first Bass after many months of trying so a small party ensued. It was around the 1.5 - 2lb but it did fine for me. The baits used were crab and rag but this Bass took two rag on a pennel. It was so lightly hooked in the lip I was lucky to get it in, after a photo I walked it down to the surf and it swam off strongly.
