Fished a secret spot, at a secret time, on some secret bait and caught a 12lb cod. Would've posted pic but its a secret. :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

12lb cod were is the pic off it mate?? Dont have to show the "secret"mark
personaly i dont belive owt till i see a pic mate... Just blending in mate:cool:

l think what he is trying to say is why tell anyone you caught fish and not say where you caught them. l dont mind telling anyone were l catch my fish as no two tide's are the same and even if l dont get a big one the next angler might and good luck to him or her. it would be nice to know you put an angler in the rite place at the rite time if it's not that then he has been having the same dream as me nowt worse than waking up in a sweat thinking you had the fish of a life time and it's only been a dream :rolleyes::D
 
what you will find in time is.... if you give exact details of where your getting fish from, when you next go down there you cant get near it as its mobbed on all tides.

i did on forums years ago.... i had to stop fishing some of my favourite marks because as soon as conditions were right bus loads would turn up and mob the marks meaning that i [who did them a favour] now cant get on it.

you must remember that on forums your not just telling the few people you recoginse here, but hundreds of luirkers who are only waiting for naive people to tell the world where is fishing best.

you will learn....

So whats the point of a catch report if its only a picture of a fish?
 
its not all about keping marks a secret.

it doesnt matter where you fish, lots of others will also fish there and know about it.

what you dont want .... is everyone knowing about it.
 
I did once but why should I now ? I sometimes pass info onto lads I know but if its fishing really good then I won't..
I fished a few places now and I've got to know these places really well and can normally tell when these areas will fish so I'm not going to broadcast it all over the forum only for all my time trying to learn a mark get mobbed by everyone!
If you come on here and try to push folk into giving up their info you'll no feedback .....
 
i always post pic off my catch wether its small or big ? thats what the forum is about...if you want to keep the mark secret then take a pic of your catch somewere so it wont be found out simples;)

The same thing could be said about work... why work when you could sit on the dole and get easy cash... instead lets have the other people go out and earn to pay my job seekers...

the point i'm trying to prove is get out do your own research on marks, bait etc... the people that are catching fish are the people out fishing, you will learn a lot by walking our coastline, yes use this site for help and tips but dont rely on it to tell you where the fish are as some people have spent years finding them, plus if someone has posted a catch report that means you have missed the fish

I go fishing regular and have a kayak I use to catch my fish, I just don't see the point of posting a report if your not reporting the mark.

And what your saying about jobseekers aint relevent because thats like saying why fish when I can buy fish at morrisons lol

the guys who catch fish on a regular basis with plenty experience would never tell yous where they were caught,and im with them sorry but nowt worse than loads of wannabees in your way and you cant get chucked in for them,i like to see the fish reports cos it tells you the fish are around then i go and find my own i dont need telling where to go,all good marks are a good chance when theyre there its up to the idividual to get his finger out of his bottom and try somewhere,sorry but its the truth:D ps heres a 12 n arf pound pollock caught at a secret mark recently by one of my gang;)atb plum

Well what i was trying to say about the job seekers thing (bit like your cooking skills lol) is people coming on here to find the fish as a quick and easy way instead of putting the hard work in by walking the coastline etc.

There is nothing wrong with just fishing as a way of getting away from the busy family life/work and reading the catch reports as a guide of an area thats fished... like blyth beach last season a report got put up and the place was packed, the mark didn't get put on here but the area did and everyone caught fish.
I personally dont use this site to find the fish i use it to see how the fishing is going.... the way i look for fish is by the forecast and walking miles of coast to find marks and get a understanding of the area's:cool: but i have fishing on the brain 24/7 its more of an obsession for me:D
