15 month and finally

My first cod it measured in approximately 25cm which TBH I expected my first to be for some reason, maybe its coz of my luck, I got nen lol. I had a cracking night fishing with the bairn though, he caught 5 with him getting 2 coleys, 2 whiteys "1 was a 1lber the other just on size but deep hooked" and a blenny.?

The 2 coleys and the blenny were caught on the bairns handline, one of the coleys nearly took his handline into the drink lol it was mad it just took off lol.

That's a bad pic like sorry, anyway I caught 3 whiting all in the 1lb mark "AGAIN" and my whopper first cod lol. Baits we used were rag, lug, macky, dirty squid "we found in the freezer", mussle and razor.

I also lost a big one that pulled me into a snag, no idea what it was. I got my 2 hook flapper rig back but lost the weight and both hooks.

I forgot to mention about the eejit along from us who cast over the bairn and buggered off to talk to someone else, you nearly lost your rod and reel when the lad brought his stuff in to rebait.

Hey great! Well done on the cod mate and shame about the one that got away. I lost a big one last week too felt like the fish of a lifetime and it buggered my reel before it came off the hook in the surf (was on my hols fishing off chesil beach in Dorset). The locals reckon it was probably a big bass and I've never caught one of them either so Double Doh! Great to see you got your first cod - I got my first one out of the Tyne this year too. Well done!

Well done on your cod mate it took some time but it was wearth it probably the best xmas pressy you will get much better than a xmas jumper.

Well done on yer first coddy pete. Hopefully a sign of many to come. Shame about the eejit but I'm affraid that's part of the game sometimes mate.

Cheers lads, aye hopefully the next one is of some size, I would love to know what it was that snagged me up. It had a good few charges towards the bottom before I got caught up in the snag.

I didn't know you could fish the far right of the walkway, you know the closest part to the boat club, whats the ground like there. The reason I ask is about 9pm a group of lads turned up, but turned around because there was a few already on where we were and they then started fishing at the very end.

Sounds like you had a decent coddy on mate. There's only one way to go when yer in like that, total unforgiving winching, hard pumping and rapid winching at the same time at any cost, never giving any slack line. Give an inch and it could be goodnight vienna.
