15lb cod for steve on sea-otter 2

Another belter of a day yesterday at sea cracking weather and fishing is improveing all the time the lads got around 80 codlings between them maybe more the best fell to steve hoylkle from scarborough with cod over 15lb .

Good day out, seems the wrecks down your way have started to produce, still no mackerel err...strange...very few on the west coast as well and they often get them starting in mid April.

Cracking report and some belter fish, was out sunday but the water off the tyne is still a bit to dirty at the minute hopfully with a decent spell of good weather the water should clear up and the fishing should come alive.

Fantastic fish them mate, that catfish especially, hopefully this weekend might be the one that we get stuck into the cod! What rigs/gear/bait were you's using to catch them whoppers, shads?

yeah you can definitely eat them, fillet them the same way as ling, I woul imagine, apparently they are meant to be nice tasting.

Yes its wolf fish or catfish as they are called in the uk it fell to squid same as the 15lb cod half the fish was caught on squid and half on shads we were fishing about 10 mile from whitby.

A couple of nice fish yesterday had ian colemans party on from hull just 4 lads booked the boat they had some nice fish amoung there catch one just under 11lb the other just nudgening 10lb both caught on squid.
