A 2 fish per day bag limit for the regions anglers has been proposed by the NESFC. The committee will vote to pass the new bye law this coming tuesday.

As you will have read the motion was thrown out.

With regard to the question "2 bass limit for us"...according to that thread Defra asked the sfc's to introduce the proposal.

I have searched my "notifications of correspondence" from the last two meetings and can find no mention of a letter from defra to this effect being sent to the NSFC. I have one 245 page document that I got to page 98 of before falling asleep (was asked for comment on it) and recieved a letter this morning to say that a document that is too large to post is available to collect from the NSFC office at Morpeth "if I wish to read it".

Does anyone travel regularly from morpeth to darlington who could pick it up

It could be in any of these documents but its two months before the next meeting so I have time to read things carefully.

Rest assured that if such a proposal is made for this region this forum will be amongst the first to know. Alternatively join the SACN (for free) or the nfsa to keep informed.

I will write to the committee chairman tonight with an open question regarding this , just to check there is nothing I have missed.

Thanks leon.
That was before my time which is why I have not heard of it and there was no mention of it in the january minutes.

Perhaps dropped and forgotten or still to be raised.

How could a bag limit work for RSA without the shores and inshore waters being full of by-catch making us like commercial fishermen. Could you imagine haviing to go fishing 25 seperate times to get 50 mackerel fillets for winter bait?

It might work for the likes of this guy tho'........

hi dave, just had quick glance thro did,nt read properly my mistake but nothing suprises me these days in this country, did you know you are going to have to pay more for your water now its hardly stopped raining sorry i will have to stop i get angry about all this ,they used to say this was a free country makes me laugh
