got to my chosen mark last night for about 1030 took a mate along with me who has just come out of course fishing to try his hand at sea fishing for the winter started fishing with rag yellowtails and mussel as bait sea was flat as a witches t*t and the fishing was slow all night every cast the bait was coming back cleaned outthat was until an hour before h/w my mate had a couple little rattles resulting in coliesjust as the tide was ion the stand my mate had another bite and no sooner i turned round to see what he was doing he had his first ever codling on the beech just over the 1lb mark and that was it for the rest of the night finally came off the beech shortly after 0400 even though i drew a blank i was just happy to see my mate land his first ever codling

You must have been at the north end ,I was at the ramp and had three fish ,left at 4 am but never saw any other lights apart from one on the pier.
