Bit of a late report but rather be late then never :) me and my oldest got new fishing rods off Santa so we decided to go down the tyne for a small session, when we got there we set up and had a few practice casts, the youngin was in his element casting out all what was missing was his first fish, we baited and started fishing, we had plenty of bites but nothing in the first half hour so we changed are hook sizes and straight away I had 3 tiny whiting out, the bairn had bites but couldn't hook 1, I was adamant for him to catch his first fish, with a bit more patients he got a cracking bite, he stood felt for the next bite and bang he was into his first fish, he gets it in and it was a good size whitn just over the pound mark, he was over the moon and so was ii , next 2 casts after he got another whitn and codling, after that it all went quiet so we called it the day, we kept 3 whitn as he wanted them for his granddad to eat bless, I think he's got the bug now as he's wanting to go all the time :D cant wait to go out with him again
