Result......fook all apart from a bit of gouge in me fishing rod when I decided to dive on it on me way off.

Anybody know if you can just get a butt section for a Penn Noreaster :casstet: :casstet: :casstet:

Bad luck Ian mate. I\'d get in touch with Penn direct and just mention how gutted you are because you love that Penn rod...and all your others!

If worst comes to worst, does your household insurance cover it?

Errr......tooka bit of a stumble.....unfortunately it weren\'t too happy with 20 stone landing on it.

Then again that could be a selling point for them ;)

I did watch where I was going and even where I was falling......I had my eyes open.......you knob ;)

Ian give them a ring. Greys replaced a tip section for me for a small fee. Saved the day cos I thought it was going to cost me a new rod.

Very helpful, I\'m sure Penn will be the same if they value customers!

Mike I\'ve enquired before about fishing gear on household insurance and most only seem to cover you for loss or theft while at home or in transit but won\'t cover breakage when in use, you seem to need special sporting insurance. The company I use recently sent a flier about different types so am going to enquire and will let you know if I find anything out.

Just receceived an e-mail back today from Penn.

If I send them the tip section they can match it to a new butt section, as apparently each rod is individually matched.

There is a £50 charge for the butt and delivery.

Not too bad....I think Greys lifetime guarantee is £30 so I can\'t complain too much.

Then at least I\'ll have 2 rock rods.

Peter I have had several claims for my gear through my house insurance for damage or loss while I have been using it (all successfull). I think it all depends on whether it is a named item or not mate.
I must say mind I have changed my house insurance now (she who must be obeyed) and none of my gear is now insured. That will be put right very soon though. Get in touch with the said insurers and get it checked out. It could save you a fortune.
