With respect, I noticed from one of your previous threads, that you may be considering your disabled fishing buddy, as well as where to fish!
I am struggling to send a link to enhance this using google earth, so I will use the IPhone as a back up! If you require further information you can PM me and I will do my utmost to help you out!
I have two suggestions for you! Both are known to produce in the Winter. The first one maybe be less known by some anglers but it is regarded as a Winter chuck!
The first one is called The Oxfauld. It is a clean ground gulley in the rock. It is fished over HW from the promenade to the North of King Edward's Bay, near Tynemouth Castle and Priory.
You can easily access this mark using the ramp, which descends from the area where you park the car. The parking is free post 2000hrs.
When you get to the bottom of the ramp you will see a tourist information board. When you are fishing, this will be to your rear and about ten metres on your right. Cast towards Tynemouth Lighthouse. To your left at about twenty metres you will see a little picnic area! That should assist in planting you in the right spot at the railing!
I know that approximately two to three weeks ago a very, very large Cod was caught (I've seen the picture in a local tackle shop) from Sh*t Hill, which is a rock mark which will be just to your NE at approximately 100m.
The second mark is just North of Cullercoats Harbour, in Brown's Bay. This is also on a promenade. If you are fishing with your friend this mark can be accessed using the ramps. These are just opposite the childrens playing park. You can also park the car here in front of the houses.
The mark is the Southern corner of the promenade. It meets the rock.
Just to the SE on those rocks are the marks of The Chair and The Crawleys. On a big drop to your NE at approximately 200m you would see Whitley Bay Pipe.
The area is dense with Kelp. If you cast straight out it is not as heavy. I would recommend a rotten bottom system here.
In both areas take a look at how the water is reacting. You can get water splashing over the rails so consider setting up a few metres back, particuarly at the second suggested mark!
I know that some excellent Cod have been caught to the North (on Whitley Bay Beach) from this second mark and I have had red Codling from The Chair in the Summer.
The other marks suggested by the other forum members (a little further to the North), could also throw up a fish, although you are probably aware of how scarce they are at the moment.
