7HT Turbo Help (Red one)

Hey lads, just picked up a 7HT Turbo and was looking for a little help regards setting up as i got it off here and was no box etc..
Im not a great caster and have been told these are a little tempremental so need it tamed down to start using it.
Whats the best combination of Brake Blocks / Oil / and what shud the knob on the end plate be set to? And whats this knob on the end plate actually for as this is not a mag reel?
All help would be most appriciated, thanks in advance!
