A Few Hours Out At Sea Today

had an invite from kingcod deano today on there boys boat we tried a few wrecks closer inshore off sunderland firstly a few mackerel for bait water was still a bit murky so we headed further out slowly picking up blegs ,whiting ,and surprise pollock 4lb and 3lb for me ,deano started hitting into some ling ,not many cod showed today well just the one around 3lb they wasnt having any of it ,but plenty of ling for a full box of fish and mackerel and pollock ,deano lost a monster fish which departed with his hook unlucky m8 but had a double out a short while later 11 and 1/2lb ,followed by a PB ling for me 12 and 1/2lb pound. fish where feeding on the wreck at this time but sadly it was time to come in thanks for the invite lads you surely know your wrecks will do it again sometime

Nice one mate, plenty of ling there ...... we've not been getting as many ling lately using shads but it's coming to "big fish" time now so the mackerel flappers will be on the menu for ling ...

Well done on the PB Coddy , those big ling certainly make a dive for cover when you latch onto them

your right m8 i was using a 20-30lb class rod it looks like a effing spinning rod it took some hauling up at that depth bent double

Some (quite a lot actually) cracking ling coming out this year , but like Norman I've not had many at all, due to not fishing bait (I suspect) , I'm planning a day targetting them though , if I can drag myself away from the cod Nice day out yous had

aye it was a nice day to be out mate i told you before we set off i was gonna get a double ling {well i said 20lb but hey ho }great company and mint crack im still reeling over that fish i lost bloody thing felt like a steam train but all in all a cracking day afloat and well done on your pb mate ya just beat me lol
