i wrote some where in an earlier thread this week that we ran the boat up to the piers saturday gone, the sea was mountanous , anyway way stayed inside the bay and tryed a bit bait on some small lures,at drift, this went on for a while, just quite happy bobbing aboot watching the pilotes risk there lives taking tankers to sea an such like,

the highlight of the day was wore younging shouting he was in ,his rod .and i'm not exagerating was well bent, he said that he had never felt tension like it before, he pulled into the fish which was well yanking on his ithink 30ldclass,rod, iwatched him with abated breath while his line was getting pulled all over the place as if he had about 10 mackie on it.,we were only in about 25ft of water just in line with the gates to the south pier and within a stones through,

as with all ''ones that got away'' this one did without seeing it, buty was very close to the surface, he's just rang me tonight to say that another long term fisherman has said that it would more likely be a salmon and a large one at that,

what de yaz recon,

cheers
