Decided that due to the settled weather i would venture out today to give the boat a good run as it has not been out the marina since october.
Headed out the marina around 1:45, shot down to Seaham fished a little patch of ground and in just over an hour landed 10 Whiting largest around 1.5lb smallest around 1lb and a few tiddlers. No sign of any cod but we only fished for just over an hour then headed back into the marina.
Weather was crackin, the suns reflection on the water was very pleasant and it actually felt like a spring day.
Im going to be heading out tomorrow morning and try make a bit more of a day of it while the weather is nice and maybe i'll hook into some codlings.
I was lazy i couldnt be bothered to fix any proper bait rigs up so i just fished with daylights baited with mussel and a fresh baiting would get a whiting within a minute or so of it hitting the bottom, plenty of rattles and pulls, but the fish are still very tentative, bites light and fish barely hooked.
