A spot for tonight in S/Shields?

Can anyone reccomend a spot to fish tonight in south shields?
High tide is at about 5:30pm but I cant get out until 7pm
Can you fish the big beach with those conditions or will it be the pier?
(I'd prefer the beach as I'm still not 100% confident about fishing around loads of others incase I mess up )
Any advice would be spot on

Don't worry about embarrassing yourself down South Shields pier mate there are plenty of people who haven't got a clue what they are doing. Would suggest that you fish it over high tide though as a lot of the spots are more available. The side where the river is often fishes better than the beach side in my experience. However a lot of other anglers seem to prefer the beach side. I usually try just inside the first gate and cast only about 60yds out where it seems to shelve off. I guess you'll already have been out by the time you see this but hope it helps for the future. Thinking of trying the beach at South Shields in a week or so for the first time as I personally felt more confident on the pier as I have no experience beach fishing.
