Set off from Amble around 11am to a beautiful calm sunny day.
We tried North of the Island picking up a couple of cod as keepers and loads of just not keepers about pound and a half. stayed there a couple of hours then tried the back of the island with the same results loads of 1lb to 1.5lbers all went back to fight another day.
Then we steamed of south
Fishing died of a bit on the tide turning but for early in the season it was a good day enough to keep us busy and around 5 cod to take home heaviest around 4lb.
This was the not quite keepers we were catching another pound or two and we could have filled a box. bait was squid and macky
finished the day around 6pm close in on the island surrounded by seals and puffins A lovely finish to a cracking day........
