about buying a boat ---how much could you get a decent 6/7 met boat for ,with an engine etc--
AHHHH --health and charter boats !!!!!!there now thats another question...
you see Im kind of falling to bits and i dont think a charter skipper would take me out.
Im disabled with major back problems rotton with arthritus,,,got COP.angina
,cornery heart desease and other bits and bobs ...yeh.
So do you think any body would chance it !!!!!
Thats why I would probibly need my own boat if you see what I mean !:rolleyes::yltype:
Oh yep had a major heart attack 7 years ago just made it to the hospital:eek:

cheeers for that ...my health not a problem ---pain and frustration pees me of
I started fishing on my own 50yrs(12) ago before that my dad had a boat where we lived on the island in the firth of clyde apparantly he used to take me out in my pram and tied the pram to the side of the cabin.
fished hartlepool and that area all these years and as long as i keep breathing I wont stop fishing,my wife hates it but thats her problem.
no i fish all types, sea ,river ,ponds, dirty bucket.
but the sea--AHH to be on the beach in a howler in the winter with the cod running ,the big seas seeing the power of the sea feeling the vibration through your body --then your alive ,,
sorry about that just love it--sensuos.
thanks hugh:red::red:

Well said Hugh, definately sea water running through your viens mate. Bad backs, boats and choppy seas dont really go together, i'll vouch for that. But if you pick your days out and are catching fish on your own boat you'll think you're 18 again....;)

boats an health

boats an health

seems to me your enthusiam and determination will get you thru.the very best of luck ,keep us posted

Sounds like you need to be buying an ambulance not a boat. But seriously mate if your health isn't all that good would it be a wise move to be out there in your own boat on your jack, the safer option is a charter that's if you can find one willing to take you and your health problems.Hope you find one.

Thanks guys and i know what you mean about being in a boat on your own,
I would realy love a boat ,my uncle had a 28ft sea going cruiser at whitby years ago ,slept 4 so we would go down on weekends and stay onit, just like being at home bit smaller but ok. had a volvo penta 2ltr inboard petrol and went like stink.
Not realy a fishing boat but 2/3 could manage carefully.
maybe wishful thinking, but you never know.I think what happens is you start to think of all the things you should of done have a huge life criciss and try to do them all before you go PUFFFFFF.
Just keep ploddding down the seafronts and see.
Maybe see you all around some time .
great respects to all

hughmac im willing to bet someone on here will be offering you a trip out soon as you sound like a good bloke and the nesa lads and lasses are a good bunch if i had a boat id take you out no problem but alas i aint got no dosh to get a boat just yet, but im gonna win the lottery soon so you never know regards batt22

i would advocate all that has been said before but if you buy a boat ensure you have someone who is proficient to sail it for you and god forbid if anything happens knows what to do.

dont forget if any of the scenarios that may happen could happen at anytime not just on a boat. If you feel up for it go for it but in a controlled manner and cover all eventualities.
