abu 6500 help

alright lads i have bought a 6500 with round side plates on the sticker it says 6500 ct power handle but were the new 6500s have the mag slider on the top of the left side plate on this model its a ratchet and ideas of age?

They pretty new... Theyre a budget 6500...

They quite good... I had one... Replaced the bush and bearing with 2 new bearings and was great

its def not a new model as its got the made in sweeden stamp on it and the sheild on the side plate

A lot of them still are made in sweden... A simple google search will show you theyre not very old... You can get them new around 60-90 quid..

i have searched them mate its not them they have flat side plates these are round

Think you'll find its fairly early one, I have a 6000 with the rounded end covers, it has bronze bushes rather than ball races. These are located in the end caps rather than on the spool as the later ones are. I think mine may be a 70's reel but not sure as theyre quite hard to date from the numbers on the reel foot . Mine is an excellent little reel, tho it has level wind on it.

The only Ambassadeur with "Power handle" printed on the decals are new models about 2-3 years old as previously stated. They all have a rounded Left hand side plate, both the CT as CS versions.

I've had mine to three yrs. Got it to practice using a multiplier. Love it. I can't fault it one bit. Still use it now. Good all rounder.
