ABU spares

Hi all,
The other week on shields I foolishly let the rod slip out of my hand and me new elite got a chip out of the l/h side plate, no damage mechanically but I was reduced to tears just looking at the tiny mark on the rim of the plate:o:o.
I spent all last week at work on the internet trying to source a new plate and eventually, through a dealer, was advised to contact Pete Coogan. Rang the guy up at about 4 on Friday and the next morning the new part arrived. some service eh! Just posting this incase other ppl are having trouble getting spares for obsolete abu's. Now I'm happy again as fitted the new plate tonight:D:D
 
i would have just left it mate as you will probs scratch the new 1 aswell, i was gutted when i chipped my penn torque but my mate reminded me they are tools not ornaments

Yer Peter's a top guy av used him quite a bit for my spares for the Abu's, he now holds all of the Akios reels spares too
 
Had quite a few part from mikes reel repairs (USA). quite cheap and has most parts for the Abu, Penn and Daiwa reels and others
 
I've got two of them, one for fishing and one for "show". The used one works excellent mechanically but has some chips and bangs out of it. The other one has only been used a couple of times and is probably a bit of a waste but is a stunning bit of kit to look at.
