Advice- Rough Ground Rod

If there was any improvement needed it wss the reel seat. Ive got 2 axes and the reel seat fell apart on both within the first season. Theres often threads on here about replacing the seats. Great blanks and rings though.

I had an axe mk1 I think stiff as but lovely finish on it for money. Northeast tackle were doing them for £120 last time I looked at them. They take some casting from beach like.

I hated my reel seat will a century/fuji seat fit? ? Or are you stuck with coasters? ?

Thanks for all the advice and opinions. As I am fortunate to be able to buy new it looks like it will be between the icon ultra power or a Rt axe which at £120 looks to be a bargin. Like Berwick says for the £250 mark I can get the rod and an akios 757 reel. Bonus is NETS is down the road from where I work so they'll be seeing me later this week!!!

The icon leeda m-sport ultra power is a top rod for the money mate. Got loads of power, good bite detection and looks good too. Only bad point for me and im being picky to mention it but its a little butt heavy. For the £120-£150 you will get one brand new and you cant really ask for more when some of the bigger named rods in the same rough ground category are double the price and more.

Hi mate do not get a sonik rod they are sh.t imo

Was gonna agree with you on these rods, not great (my opinion, for me) casting rods, but saw a different side to it today, it handled rough ground without fault & managed to get me some nice fish through heavy thick beds of kelp

Dunno spongebob! Never used either, but everyone thats got one seems to think the're the dogs bo***ocks. If it'll pull out the plug it's gotta be a good'un.

I just got a mk1 icon power (brand new) and i cannot see for the life of me why anyone would need an ultra power. The power is already stiff, its also a lovely rod for the £80 mine cost!

The newer icons might not be as butt heavy as they don't have the captive reducer my mk1 has.
