im new to this fshing game and i do enjoy it, the problem is i seem to be totaly crap at it, so far i have caught 1 cod that came in at 4lb and 2 coalies that were around the 2-3 lb mark, all were off sheilds pier, recently been trying roker pier and even ventured up to seahouses, mainly using rag or squid, stood for 4 hours on monday on roker pier and all i caught was a cold, any advice from anyone to help me and my crap catching ability?

A 4lb cod is not bad and as far as 3lb and a 2lb coalie goes that is a very good fish.
Try roker pier at night you should get plenty of fish, but they will be on the small size.

This time of year try macky for bait, you will get whitties, macky and flatties.

i would say you have done well on your catch i had coalies today just nudging the 2lb mark and are good fish for shields pier the biggest coaly i,ve had weighed in at 4llbs at guestimation and that was big so you done well on your catch .
