Just bought some 20lb spiderwire clear for spinning. My question is do I just tie the spinner straight onto the braid or use a light rubbing line say 12lb Berkeley iron silk line.

Look up a knot suitable for braid and use it to tie on a swivel. Add a foot and a half of mono to the other end of the swivel and tie the spinner to that.

Use fluro carbon at a lesser breaking strain than your braid. Join them with a improved Albright knot and attach a clip to the fluro for easy lure changes.
