advise on tackle for ne shores

I back to beach fishing after 20 years absence. In that time have lost touch with upto date tackle. No experience on multipliers as such but have recently used abu level wind in america. Determined to master multiplier, but have fixed spool back up. what i need to know is what reel/rod combination do i need for these shores taking into account my experience. Looking at abu 7000 or similar,have been told to get level wind , any advise on rod/reel combinations would be very welcome. Also would like advise on venues, live just outside Durham

Hi Ianmack, see you found the site then. Give it time and a few will respond.

If your looking for a well priced rock rod, then look at the Ron Thompson Axellerator, its very powerful. light and will handle anything. Around £100-£120.

If you want a reel just for the rocks, then probably Abu 7500, Penn 535 or a Daiwa Slosh 30 would all do the job well.
