Went out for half a day with my brother in law. Couldn't locate any decent cod, only large whiting and small ling. I haven't mastered the drift technique yet so didn't get over the wrecks plus my fish finder is playing up. I have just got a new one and will fit it this week. Anyway the rain came and we went. Plenty of fish showing and the ling threw up a whole sprat, they were a bit picky or are having a rest bite. Still no mackerel. I am sure that things will improve very soon when the mackerel show up in numbers. Could be some stonkers on the cards this year.
