was down the other day mate and noticed the same, was a few mackerel caught the other morning at first light.

the mackerel be in deeper water with a bit chop on the sprat will just lurk round the harbour parts in sheltered and calmer water i seen thousands sprat rightdown the side up the tyne at mill dam last week

I suppose the weather has had an effect realistically we want westerly or no wind for macky not 2 mention a good few days of sun

If the sun had stayed for another 2days then i reckon the macs would of showed up but not in big numbers not untill end of june for the big shoals to come in.. but anyway weather changed and macs changed direction well the bigger numbers anyway! going to try end of the week to see if weather picks up maybe try deeper water first light good luck lads...

Was down Hartlepool yesterday. Thought about chucking some spinning gear in the motor but decided not to. Just as well really the sea was big and i would have blanked. Saw three lads on the heugh setting up with beachcasters before i left.

realistically you are looking at around 3-4 weeks before the shoals come in

they normaly come in when the kids brake up for the holidays carnt wate

they will show with in a week if the sea settles odd few here and there if it dont settle well 2 weeks
