Fished the flood at Alnmouth today from 8.30am until midday. Had one 35cm Flounder around 9am and that was about it. I chucked my last cast out about 25m into the channel. I started to pack my gear away and looked round to see my rod going mental 
. I ran over to grab it, but whatever it was was gone. I left it out another 10mins but it never came back. Gutted! Still a lovely quiet morning with not a breath of wind! Bait was rag and bluey
